MINING EXCITEMENT.
Mining news from Grahamstown is encouraging, though a decline has taken place in Moanatairi shares. Last week's returns show 5538 ounces. Gold has been struck in the Piako at a depth of 400 feet, in the ground of the Kurunui Hill Company, and shares in the latter have advanced.
