WAITAKI ROAD BOARD.

v The following memoers were at the meeting of the Board, held yesterday : Messrs. T. Duncan (in the chair), Mee, Easton, Borrie, Honour, and Stewart. An application for £5, from Mr. D. Ruddock, for extras in constructing the footpath at Laudon, was not entertained. Mr. John Locke was appointed Auditor to the Board, the fee being fixed at £2 2s. Mr. Martin tendered his resignation as Clerk to the Bosrd, and it was resolved, "That Mr. Martin's resignation be accepted, but that he be requested to retain office till the appointment of his successor; also, that the able and satisfactory manner in which lie has discharged the duties pertaining to his office be recorded on the minutes of the Board." The Chairman and Messrs. Borne and Honour were requested to • 3^ Committees from the Waiareka and Kifpinui Boards, in reference to the appointment of a successor to Mr. Martin. In answer to a complaint from the residents of Landon, in reference to the piggeries in that district, it was resolved. "That Messrs. Fleming and Honour be appointed a Committee to examine the piggeries, and report at next meeting of the Board." It was resolved, " That a letter be sent to the County Council, asking that body to take into consideration the opening of a road through the Papakaio Pre-emptive. Accounts to the amount of £7G 16s. having been passed for payment, the Board adjourned.
