OTEPOPO ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of this Board was held on Friday, November 3. Present — Messrs. Anderson (Chairman), Henderson (Treasurer), Marshall, Russell, Newlands, Darroch, Watson, and Ross. Mr. Henderson proposed, and Mr. Maksuall seconded, that the minutes of last meeting be adopted as read. POUND AT MAHENO OR KEIDSTON. A letter was received from the Kakanui Board re ths erection of a pound at Maheno or Rsidston, and the appointment of a Ranger. Mr Henderson moved that this Board is to bear lialf the expense of erecting ~a pound at Maheno, provided the total expense does not exceed £4O ; but th;:t the services of a Ranger are not required. —Seconded by Mr. .Newlajtds. A letter was received from Mr. Meek; Auckland, requesting certain statistical information. The Clerk was directed to acquaint him that it could be obtained most correctly from the Census Enumerator, Dunedin. The rate for tlie current year 1876-7 was directed to be made payable on or before December 20.
The Committee appointed to report on Mr. Gale's application about the water on his property recommended that the matter be left in abeyance till next meeting. On the motion of Mr. Darroch, seconded by Mr. Henderson, the Chairman was asked to attend the Covention summoned by His Honor the Superintendent, the expenses attentfarifc on the the same to be paid by the Bo¥rd. . A few accounts were _ passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
