[pee. press agency.] ♦ Wellington, Wednesday. MR. MACANDREW AND ABOLITION. Mr. Macandrew has given notice to move that '• The provisions of the Abolition Act of last session were repugnant to the feelings, and opposed to the interests, of the people of Otago, and that therefore the operation of the Act be suspended so far as the Province of Otago is concerned ; and that his Excellency tne Governor be asked to order a fresh election for the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Otago, so as to afford the people of that Province an opportunity of determining what form of Local Government would suit its requirements, and that Abolition will be held in abeyance as regards the Province of Otago." MORE WRECKAGE. The Taupo, on its way to Wellington, at'B.so p.m. yesterday, passed a vessel bottom up, twenty-five miles N.N.E. half E. from Godley Heads.
