MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.
A special meeting of the Council was held this moniing at ten o'clock, to receive tlie reports and plans from the Engineer of the proposed water supply. There were present:—His Worship the Mayor, Councillors Galbraith, Bee, Headland, Scott, and Morton. It was resolved that the plans and report submitted by the Engineer for a water supply for the town be adopted, and the necessary working plans be prepared forthwith; also, that the advertisements in accordance with clauses 4 to 6 of the Waterworks Act, 1872, be inserted in the local papers. The plans to be open for inspection for three months. All other notices required by the said Act to be issued, and all other conditions to be complied with. The solicitor to be instructed to see that all the necessary minutiaj of the Act be carried out. ' It was resolved that the Mayor be requested to make application to the Waste Land Board for the land required for the water supply situate in Block 111., Awamoko district, and to ' instruct Messrs. Connell and Moodie to appear in supjjort of the application, and to make such further arrangements as may be deemed necessary. This concluded the' business, and the Council adjourned.
