MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
THIS DAY. [Before T. W. Parker, Esq., R.M.] ABUSIVE LANGUAGE. John Todd Smith, saddler, was charged with using abxisive and insulting language towards Jaru.es Wheatley, in Itchen-street, Oamaru, on the 4th inst. Mr. o'Meagher appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. Balnier for the defendant. After hearing evidence, the Magistrate fined the defendant £2 10s., with costs and solicitor's fees, amounting to £3 7s. 6d.
