RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
THIS DAY. Before T. W. Parker, Esq., lI.M. BREACH OF BYE-LAWS. David Reed, charged with a breach of the above, was fined 10s. BREACH OF HARBOUR REf! V LATIOXS. D. Urqidi irt, mast r o' the steam r Matau, was charged that lie did, on the 2nd May last, unlawfully haul his vessel alongside the wharf in Oamaru Harbour, without having previously obtained permission from the Harbour Master, or his deputy so to do. Mr. Hislop appeared for the Harbour authorities, and Mr. Banner for the defendant. After hearing the evidence, his Worship inflicted a lino of 2i)s. LARCENY. Frank Taylor, remanded from yesterday, was charged with having stolen, on the 10th inst., from the shop of Joseph Moss, certain articles of wearing apparel, valued at £S 15s. Gd. The same prisoner was further charged with stealing from the shop of Edward Grave, on the same day, a tarpaulin and tent, valued at £4 2s. Gd. Sub-Inspector M'Cluskey conducted the prosecution. The prisoner pleaded Guilty ; and, after hearing the evidence, the Bench sentenced the prisoner to four months' imprisonment, with hard labour, on the first charge, and two months on the second.
