[from ot.tr own correspondent. ] '■ Dukedin, Tuesday. THE NATIONAL INSURANCE CO. The meeting of the National Insurance Company adopted the report. Mr. Larnach said no company in the Colony had made such strides. The amount of premiums received were : —First half-year, £26,029 ; second, £27-400 ; third, £42,572; fourth, £45,064 ; and last half-year, £04,258. Messrs. Neill, Pressor, Glendinning, Driver, and Cax-gill were elected directors. Two incendiary fires have occurred at Waikouaiti, but the loesses were small. THE FIRE BRIGADE. The Fire Brigade entertained the Wellington Contingent at luncli. Our Contingent comprises eight men.
