TAKE SOME SORTING
White Wings Is Selected OVER SEVEN (From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) THE Borough Handicap of seven furlongs is causing quite as much study as any other event on the first day's programme 'at Takapuna. It is made the "first leg" m doubles and trebles with many, and is not easy to solve. Trouble is added to by at least four of those appearing jn the acceptances claiming other engagements, and there is likely to be a bit of dodging going on. That is only reasonable to expect, but facing the position as it stands Nancy Lee, even at 9.0, may be better suited than at fourteen pounds less over the longer journey m the Alison Cup. Sir Russell had a race at Te Rapa over a mile, m which he finished a fair third, thereby indicating ■ that his turn is not far off. Flying Prince, on a damp track, would be hard, while both Lady's Boy and White Wings, if started, must come into calculations. , Ti Tree will' probably give it a go from Jamieson's stable, while Tenakoe, from Cook's stable, had a race at Te Rapa to benefit him. His record was three wins and a second m half-a-dozen starts last season. * Cynthia N's. track work at Ellerslie indicates possibilities, while Big Bertha is fit if she can handle the track. Honiton is good at her best; Spring Abbey may find the class a bit rich, while Imperial Prince has not threatened danger, m sprints, but will be better suited at seven furlongs at the minimum impost. " It is a very knotty problem ' for punters, but White Wings may ' prove the hardest to dispose '.. of ; with, Tanalcoe and Sir Russell as 1 very likely probables. j
