GREAT PETER

Early Favorite For Otahuhu Cup (From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) | The Otahuhu Trotting Club's summer meeting is set down for February 22 and 24. DOMINATIONS were taken last week when the final summing: up showed that 295 entries were received. The 17 m the List for the Otahuhu Cup form a useful field However, the 4.30 limit will not suit the majority and at present those on scratch will come m for most favor. With Great Peter doing it on his chest when he broke 4.29 at Auckland m December, from the front peg he will be certain to be the early favorite. Under the new system of handicapping Great Peter's mark is 4.31, but his connections will not quibble about giving away a second to have a chance of lifting such a race as the O.T.C. Cup. Certainly anything may happen m the interim, but unless something occurs between now and the day to shake the confidence of students of form there will be a lot of bullion put m cold storage for Great Peter on February 22. At this stage of the proceedings Sunshower appears tc be his most serious rival, but a better line may be afforded when the acceptances close on Friday.
