(From "N.Z. Truth's" North Island Rev.) CINCE coming to Auckland the ex- ° Middlesex trainer, F. J. Smith, has had a little success. It was evidently this which prompted "W. Johnstone, of Te Awamutu, to engage the Englishman when J. Kennerley turned m the position of private trainer. Smith will take up his duties m the hear future while Kennerle.y will toddle off South sometime this week. So far as Smith is concerned he will have some deceit material to work on. ' '*■ . J. Foley, owner of the promising Mountain Princess, has decided ,to hang out his shingle at Mangere. # • * * If Benefice's programme is confined to races Yshorter than two miles, she should 'pay her way at the. business.
