MODEST OWNER

Missing From Trophy Presentation

(From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) Some racing owners are of the modest type, and J. H. Cheshire is evidently one of these. VV7HEN his horse, Prince of Orange, " bolted away with the Wynyard Plate last Saturday, he was not present to receive the 'gold cup, the Mayor of Auckland accepting the handsome trophy on his behalf. It was the same when Leitrim won the Takapuna Plate m November last, G. Johnson not arriving on the scene until the second day's racing when the speechifying ceremony was all over. • Prince of Orange displayed surprisingly good form. when he took the Wynyard Plate. If he can repeat the same form again then he can be placed to victory m the open class, where he must be cast for the future.
