ANOTHER ONE
; Something .went wrong with the inner works'. during the Trentham Cup meeting. THE first day saw a horse left out of the' book and of course the horse had to win. This was Tenterden and the race was the Wellington Stakes. One ,a meeting is bad enough, but on the last day the course was plastered with notices stating that -.* ! Ti Tree was not m the book for* .the Summer Handicap and that •he would be a starter, carrying ; number 16 cloth.. Those who believe m coincidences worked. it out that here was the strong tip, and the rhare carried a few more pounds than would have been the case had her name not been omitted from the card. - ■ ' However, being left off the card was not sufficient to makeTi Tree win. She, was always m the middle part of the field and there she finished. . When horses left off the card win there is' always a squeal from punters away from the course, but when they do not win there is silence. • '■ At time; of writing "Truth" has yet to receive any correspondence blaming the books for. leaving Ti Tree off.
