New Zealand Wins Another
(By Cable — From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Sydney Representative). AFTER an inglorious last m his previous start Bonhomme won the 1 Hurdles at Rosehill on Saturday, being practically unbacked. The. ex- New Zealand jockey, Owen Cullum, preferred the ride on the favorite, Pericles, although he was astride Bonhomme m his first win, which was also at Rosehill, The Canterbury Park failure was perhaps due to the sloppy track. Dalston and Tasty were both unplaced m the Three- Year-Old Handicap. * They were never likely, and neither was mentioned m the betting. ''■'■•'.'■ Teri was very sore when doing his preliminary for the first division of the High Weight. He ran a fair race into sixth place. First Acre was well -backed m the same race and finished, fourth. Both horses are > close to wins. Stormy was never m the picture m the mile and a-quarter handicap. He started at" a long price. The race was won by Lord Kennaquhair, which was ridden by T. Webster. . At an adjourned inquiry, E. Baxter was severely censured for his handling of Hudibras m the Stewards at Gosford a week ago. The owner-trainer was exonerated. ! , Johnnie McCombe is making satisfactory progress after his operation. .
