A Kindly Man
WITH the resignation of Dr. D. N. W. Murray, C.M.G., D.5.0., M.D., from the position of Police and Prison Surgeon a good man has been lost so far as the general public are concerned. / Those who have ever come into contact with Dr. Murray can testify to the fact that he is m every respect of that rare type which 'cari m v very truth be given the title of gentlenaan. During his arduous rriilitary .-; service he was one of those whose popularity with the "boys'! was founded on a twerity-two ' carat basis, and a more self-effacing, kindly, genuine man never wore the King's uniform. f . -The limelight has never ."attracted ' the doctor arid during tho years of .. peace which succeeded the war. ne has .not '"butted m" ' with . a numerous i galaxy of crowns and stars. He is not of the type! which seize every pppori tunity *to off oratorial efforts, on a : long-suffering public. y One thing, which will always be said ■ of him- is that he knew , his', job and he r didylt.
