Dixon is indeed a brilliant band - batonist is wellrmerited. - Veterans of the T.Z. Rifle Brigade, especially, must feel pride m the knowledge of their old brigade bandmaster attaining the big honors. The first time J.D. handled a baton it was as the youthful .conductor of a Roslyn choir. Six years ago, he took over the conductorship of the St. Kilda Band, and with a margin of eleven , points m the recent New Zealand title event, the personnel of. the St. Kilda Band has something of which to be proud.
