Plays Many Parts

A MAN with many interests aptly describes E. ("Scbbe") McKenzie, Of Carterton, who has just 'returned north after judging at the Dominion fire brigade corhpetitibns at Hokitika, In his palmy days, he assisted the Carterton brigade to extinguish many fire's,- arid win many prizes m open competition, and. as he did m the Rugby world, "Scobe" has continued his interest oh the administrative side of the fire fighters' business. As chairman of the New Zealand All Black selection committee, he has a comprehensive knowledge of what is going on m the Rugby world, and though he was averse to discussing it freely while he was on the Coast, he absorbed a good deal of local knowledge which will be all m favor of that province when West Coast problems come before the N.Z.R.U.
