Comedian Called To Legal Stage
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Christchurch. Representative). . " U/^ALL Clem Dawe." At this injunction of the clerk of the v> court m Christchurch the other morning there was a craning of necks m the gallery to get a glimpse m the flesh of the Frolics . cheer-germ, who has been providing for the past three weeks a, tonic m entertainment for the jaded nerves of Christchurch. ■ But Clem Dawe had not been up to any serious pranks. His ' misbehavior merely amounted to leaving; his car protruding over the end of a small parking area opposite the White Hart Hotel m High Street, thereby obstructing the footpath. "Guilty," said Clem m his meekest voice when asked to plead. ' It was then explained by the police that, being a visitor to Christchurch, Clem was apparently unaware of the regulations governing this small parking place on which he had tried to . - squeeze his way, so it only cost him a modest five shillings. .'■ I\ • , ' • .
