On Pictures
PICTURES m the drawing-room *■ are really .not fashionable today, and m the new-style homes they are hung very sparingly.
But many women still prefer pictures on the walls — the more massive the frames the better. There Is . an art m hanging pictures, which can either make or mar the whole appearance of a room. Some beautiful homes are spoiled, from the artistic point of view, by the haphazard manner m which -the frames are h'uner. They should be >chosen for size and balance — arid, of course, suitability of subject according to the room. Badly-hung and ill-assorted pictures of odd sizes and m a variety of frames, when hung In a room otherwise artistically perfect, will mar the whole effect.
