"Doc" Gower Goes
TO successfully hold down for nine years the job of surgeon-superin-tendent of the fifth largest hospital m the Dominion would at least imply that the holder was not lacking m administrative and healing skill. The Waikato Hospital Board has just taken a sorrowful farewell of such a superintendent m the person of Dr. G. W. Goweiy who has handed m his insignia of office. A calm, confident administrator, with his nerves and emotions held on a tight rein, the "Doc." has left an impress upon the life and memory of "Hamilton and the .Waikato that will take a deal of effacing. That his fame will precede him m private practice goes without saying.
