Fine Tennis In The Provinces (From "N.Z. Truth's" Tennis Correspondent.) Tennis is booming m the North Island provincial centres, and "N.Z. Truth." was more than surprised at the efficiency of control and the promise of some of the junior players. T ARGE entries and keen clashes were the order of the day at Hawera, where splendid work amongst the juniors is being done by the vicepresident, R. H. L-eece. . ■ , The provincial championships were played at New Plymouth and attracted a large and representative field, v The tourney was immensely popular, but the management was hard put to it to keep the ball rolling at times, an there were only six courts available, and some of the star performers were over two days late m arriving. However, some fine play was witnessed. Glorious weather, .- fourteen courts fast and true, unlimited hospitality and classy tennis combined to make the Manawatu tourney a red-letter one. Lindsay.
