SUN BLEACHED
How To Revive The Skin Again
P'lrin'r a holiday one feels so Well and gay, and particularly v, uii-i-Oiiiplexioned, that it is always with a cold feeling- of horror that one sees the parchment like dry tone taken on by the skin a few days after. BUT this is a very minor trouble and can be attended to readily if a few simple directions are followed. This, falling off m the clarity of the complexion does not mean that the holiday has not done you good — it merely means that reaction has set m. You should be careful of your diet for a few days until the change has had time to take effect- on you,' and then you will notice the benefit' that has come to you from fresh air and a change of conditions. Your skin may look rough and uncared for 1 , all the same, and there are a number of ways of curing this. Do not use the steam process, as your pores will have been opened enough by exposure to the sun and wind. Begin the treatment by applying warm towels to the face and neck before you put on the cream — a simple one like Pond's or Davis. . See that the cream is soft enough to apply easily without undue rubbing to dissolve it. Once having put it on the face, rub it welkin with the tips of the fingers with an upward motion. Take it off with a lotion and reapply a thick layer^ and leave this last on for about twenty minutes, covering your face with a thin handkerchief or some butter muslin. You will find that most of the grease is absorbed by the skin. Then remove the cream with a- lather of super-fatted soap, removing the soap m turn with warm water. Then bathe the face m milk if tflls is obtainable. People should realize, as did famous beauties before us, what a beautifler milk is. It is not necessary, to use it often to obtain results. A little extra treatment can be given with slices of cucumber and lemon. f A neglected neck is as trying to the beholders as dirty nails, and just as much of a give-away. Peroxide of hydrogen applied by compresses is a sure cure for discoloration, and soon has the effect of making the neck look young and pretty to -match the face.
