FOR sheer perseverance, it would be hard' to find many men of the calibre of Jimmy Purcell. In the heart of the Mamaku busn is the township; of Mamaku, ., nestling, .upon the highest point of the Rotorua railway line. ; '• ' - Jimmy is the movie-man of the little township, and. he displays his film fare for the delectation of the "bushies" and timber. workers within the portals of a theatre which he buiit himself with the aid of a saw, a hammer, some boards, and some nails. The appointments, and the faultless way he puts his show over would shame many a showman of a town treble the size. But Jimmy is something more than a show entrepreneur of the bush, for he is an expert saw doctor, a wireless expert, an electrical engineer and a keen motor-bike racer. ;
