WELL- FILLED FIELDS
Minor Events At Hutt Park Should Attract
WHAT OF SISTER BEATRICE?
(By "The Toff")
Though acceptances had not been . declared at the time of writing, the "Wellington Trotting Chfb should enjoy first class fields; for its one-day meeting on Saturday.
•THE day's fun will begin with the 1 February Handicap, for horses that can skate over a mile and a-half In 3.40. Ambleside is a decent sort. He won at the South Wairarapa meeting. Anon' also is full of promise, and so is Brook Pointer. . • Rafa r went so badly at For bury that one is afraid to risk him. If he goes right he will stroll home. Failing him, Brook Pointer and Ambleside read best. In the Select -Trotters' events Sarsaparilla will go well off 12yds., and the distance will suit Happy Rosa. But - what of Kempton? After the Champion Handicap is decided, a bunch of horses capable of going a mile and a-half m 3.32 or better will assemble. Loiterer on 12yds. is a fair sort, so is his stable chum, Great Logan. But if Sir Author and Delighti ful go to the post they will keep * Hooper's pair moving. . ■ '
Ambleside also is m the Taita Novice Handicap, an event for horses that can do 3.2 for ten furlongs.' The journey will suit Anon, and she will be very hard to beat. For the Armstrong Handicap, Tiger Salve off _, 12yds. will be knocking at the door.It is a two-mile race for trotters that can do 4.36 or faster. Sister Beatrice is a good mare, and judged by the easy manner m which Trampfast won at Addington, he will have to be taken into consideration. For the Palmer Handicap, King Pointer and Black Admiral will be well fancied. If anything beats HoojDer's representative it may be Bonny Logan or Ahuriri. The last race on the card is the Au Revoir Handicap. Queen Elizabeth is starred as being something good. She should be a good box office attraction at Petone. '
