PROMISE THERE

Royal Acre Will Win Many A big error m judgment prevented Royal Acre from winning both hurdle races at New Plymouth. AT Hawera the big Acre gelding was ridden a shocking race, and the manner m which his inexperienced I rider., showed him up was heart-break-ing to any owner. For New Plymouth Sam Henderson was engaged, and a. short price had to be taken. Any winning price is a good one, so say the sages, and it was so with Royal Acre the first day. He had the race to himself, and even with his rise he looked the best of good things on -Saturday. However, over- confidence on the part of Henderson caused the slip, and the race was lost. As if that was not bad enough, during the running Royal Acre got into his fences and cut his stifles about. Always at this time of the season the crowd is on the look-out for a jumper that will come up to scratch m the winter. Here is one for them.
