A Dog Man

TO see Jimmy Johns m his car on Saturday afternoons might sug-

gest he was going to the dogs, i Well, usually he is, but not m the accepted sense. Jimmy is the whippet king of New Zealand and pioneer of "tin" hare racing m "God's Own Country." He is always happy when able to line out some of his very speedy whippets at the New Brighton course, over the hurdles, or on the flat. A good fellow is Jim and a thorough sportsman. He faced hard days during his term as president of the New Brighton Trotting Club, but set a worthy standard for his successors. Jim's dairy farm at Belfast is a model of efficient working. It not only supplies his bread and butter line m life, but supplies a substantial part of Christchurch with one of the necessities of life.
