SEAMEN ALL
Good Sailing In Cornwall Cup (From "N.Z. Truth's" Christchurch Rep.) The Cornwell Cup contest this year produced some of the best seamanship which has been witnessed m the class m recent years. DUT the importance of the event was entirely eclipsed by the squabble which is still m the air between Otago and Auckland. The conference of delegates dealt J. T. Paul and his malcontents a body blow by making a retrospective rule , to accept the entry of the North East Harbor punt which had not been forwarded through the Otago body. The. Otagonlans have retaliated by disqualifying the N.E.H. club from membership. Yachtsmen can take, solace from the fact, however, that the work of the boys m the Takapuna punts this year was m the main outstandingly good. They were tested with a variety of weather conditions, and the Auckland crew, Rogers and Carter, established a definite measure of superiority over their antagonists. Garter took the tiller for the Auckland boat m the second race, m which they were defeated by Lyttelton, but he- was more at home with the spinnaker.. '
