UNLUCKY

Nelson Tasker's Running DESERVES CUP (From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) If any pacer deserves to win a cup it is Nelson Tasker. T AST season he -was second m the big heats at Northland, Thames and Cambridge, and third m the Te Arolm Cup and Adams' Memorial. He was just pipped m December m the Waikato Cup, and' with an ounce of luck would have -been first.. When the Otahuhu Club decided to make their cup open for competitors with 4.34 or better against them (limit 4.32), Nelson Tasker scraped m by the skin of his teeth. He has the required time to his credit, having skipped over 'two miles m 4.34 ancl that m the Northland Cup over twelve months ago. From the limit m the big heat at Epsom this month he would give cheek, but if the opposition is strong Nicholls' representative may have to wait awhile to get a trophy. At any rate, as his last handicap was 4.34 his owner may. not be inclined to go for a 4.32 race.
