IMPROVING

Tidal Looks Good Proposition \ (From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) Tidal stripped somewhat refreshed for his Takapuna hack effort last week-end. DEING refreshed, he ran more kindly than has been the case with him since, the spring. His appearance and the fact that he had a good horseman aboard had, much to do with his being made a solid favorite over a team of "duds." Even though the turning track was against him, he was always thereabouts and finally possessed the stamina to head off Brampton for the thick end of the purse. Goldfinch held the French -bred horse together m great style throughout. Though Tidal has not done big things as yet, the hope of his owner that some big handicap pr cup will come Tidal's way seems well within bounds. He has displayed staying tendency and may be well m the boom for some of the big things' later on m the autumn and next season. Jamieson's stable now shelters the French importation.
