SUITS THEM
Good Beginners At Takapuna (From "N..Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) "First out and first home" was mainly the rule at Takapuna on opening day. AT least as near as possible was. that the order of things, for m seven of the eight events the actual winners all found the front early. The beginning powers of both High Finance and Flying Juliet certainly played a strong part m helping them to register victories over seven and twelve furlongs respectively. The Begum was another, and though Lady's Boy began quicker than Vallar m the sprint, the latter soon found the front.. It was the same with Ripon Abbey once he foundthe front, also Glenstar. The fact that Polyxena was up with the leaders early stood tp her supporters against the position which her rival, Royal Finance, occupied as they settled down. I It all proved once again that the good beginner has quite a' lot on. the opposition at Takapuna. .
