(By "The Toff.") The Gold Cup meeting was one of Billy Tomkinson's b'fg days. He won four races with horses from his team. THE star performer was the three- *• year-old Hinkler, which captured the Improvers' and the Gracefteld Handicaps. ! The youngster's performance m winning over two miles m 4.33 4/5 is the best registered by any three-year-old m New Zealand, ' "Tomkey" certainly was lucky m getting a run on the rails m the straight m the Grace-field Handicap. Without the opening it did not look possible for Hinkler to get through. Such is the luck of the game. But this is not the first occasion that Tomkinson has annexed half of a day's programme. .
