Dream of The Cup Winner

THE impressive manner m which Vertigern scored at Feilding\ at the end of November must have left an indelible mark m the mind of ' ' N.Z. Truth. " For", between that meeting 1 and Woodville a week later, "Truth" dreamt of the victory of Vertigern m the Wellington Cup. Ancl m the dream he scored the victory m the same manner as it actually came about on Tuesday last. On the opening day of the Woodville meeting, "Truth" spoke to the trainer,. "Snow" Moroney, of the dream, adding the information that after the horse won the race, Moroney was seen by the dreamer receiving the Cup and making a speech. That was too much for Moroney. He does not make speeches — and he said so. A number of others were told of the dream. One was the Wellington handicapper, Bert Coyle. And then on Tuesday it came true. "Truth" has now been approached to take on the dream business, a la the celebrated H 'Allen H' Allen of the Rex Beach novel, "The Ne'er Do Well." The new position is not coveted or even sought after!
