THESE HOT NIGHTS DEMAND A WRAP FOR FLIMSY FROCKS

THE LIMITED INCOME

Problems Faced By Women

"How do those women get on who 'handle a limited capital only, ' ' one asks when discussing limited income. By limited capital is meant not three or four pounds 3 week, but the allowance to a woman whose husband cannot afford everything she sees m the various shop windows.

WEIjLt, women find ways and means . . that must surprise the average husband. She employs technique m dressing on means which t can be described only as moderate. ' The woman of limited means cannot afford to have numerous friends, for the simple reason that her entertaining expenses would be far too heavy. ■ She can supply the changes provided she goes about things the right way. The average woman wants three coats — a tweed, with or without fur; an afternoon coat m broadcloth, face cloth or velvet; and an evening coat of velvet or brocade. She wants a tweed coat and skirt, and a three-piece suit with a change of jumpers, and two or three afternoon

frocks m crepe de chine, chiffon or georgette. The velvet afternoon frock is an item that is also very useful m the Wardrobe. Velvet made into a suit and worn with a felt hat and suitable shoes is also a welcome change. Dinner frocks are a real problem with the woman who exchanges dinner invitations with a sma.lt circle of friends, but lace can be called to aid here, and black, beige straw-colored or dyed is always charming. One other point the woman with the limited income should consider— good hats and shoes and gloves, and cleverly chosen accessories, and #. blending or considered contrast of colors.
