Suave Sammy
A. POPULAR figure m legal and sporting circles m Christchurch is H. R. Sampson, universally known as Sammy. Sammy cannot boast the physical attainments -of his Biblical namesake, though m the sporting world of the city by the Avon he has performed similar Herculean deeds. School days at Wellington College ignited the latent spark of sporting instinct m Sammy, and since he has been m Christchurch both boxing and hockey have felt the benefit of his weighty push. Since taking over the secretaryship of the Christchurch Sports Club, at: a time w-hen the or-' ganisation was languishing, Sammy has made himself a force m the fistic firmament, and another successful season, such as the one just completed, .will see the club - firmly implanted again on the road to prosperity. Similarly, the stick game has been glad to welcome his executive skill, and its many supporters would' be sorry to lose the secretarial hand of H. R. Sampson.
