At Wanganui recently he put the shot 35ft. 6in., beating 1 by two inches the record established by J. J. Dillon at the 1922-23. Wangan ui championships and equalled by himself at the 1926-27 meeting. Later, iit Hawera, he threw the hammer 116 ft. 4in., expeeding by nine inches his own record made at the centre championship •meeting m 1926-27. Hunt was the man who first saw the possibilities of young Stan. Lay and he has given valuable assistance to the New Zealand champion javelin thrower. May he long be m the hunt. . j
