H. Neville, of Christchurch, will long be remembered. Giving a magnificent exhibition Neville cleared 5 feet 11 inches. His performance has seldom been bettered by New Zealand amateurs. Two' have cleared 6 feet and one has crossed the bar at 5 feet 11% inches. Taken all round the Caledonian Spciety did its bit truly and well and the hand of congratulation must be theirs.
