AFTER four furlongs had been completed, the contest for the Islington Handicap at Christchurch was confined to Genuine and Zenith. Three furlongs from home Teddy McDermott was wiggling at Zenith. Once into the straight, Zenith made a big effort to reach Genuine, but Lou Thomas kept the latter together and arrived at the judge three-quarters of a length clear of Zenith. Acre, Firelight, Dundas Boy and Pluto failed to handle the going.
