He jogged m at New Brighton, and if as well at Addington as he was at the seaside he will make the opposition hurry up. Then there are Albena, Sonoma Child and Apex, but at the finish, Pet Locanda, Dick Logan and Nan Brent should fill the bill. Now for the Lyttelton Handicap. Star Lady is a tough customer and ought to be. m the money, and Mavis Wood is an everyday sort. When it is summed up Star Lady, Donard and Alvira should be m the money. The. fifth event on the card is the Stewards' Handicap for unhoppled trotters that can trump two miles m 4.44 or faster. Bonny Belmont is the latest from Australia and. if m form he will be m the bunch that finishes m a prominent position. Nelson Ata is not done with yet, neither is Len Wood which is long overdue. When right he is a good trotter and a real stayer! At New Brighton, Audominion went a good race so it would not be surprising if he bobbed up on New Year's Day. It looks as though Audominion, Len Wood and Nelson Ata will be prominent. The swift mile and a-quarter race on Tuesday is the Islington Handicap for horses that can scamper over ten furlongs m 2.48. ( On New Brighton efforts, Firelight is due to win, and Orphan and Matchlight only want an ounce of luck to be m the argument. In the finish, Zenith and Pluto may beat Firelight to the post.
