New Zealand's First and Sweetest Lady
Lady Alice Fergusson, since her arrival, has kept pace with the Governor-General m popularity and success. Lady Alice has, however, a record of something more than social charm. Quietly and without advertisement, she has taken the leadership of movements for the benefit of women and children m this country, and has given the benefit of a sympathetic understanding to every New Zealand woman m need of help. She has played a gracious part m the social life of our land, and a noble one m that less conspicuous field where there is work to be" done' and encouragement to be given.
