BIT UNLUCKY
There was some consolation that the pile of cash which had been stored up for weeks to support Gold Money m the Takapuna Plate did not go west. LJER second saved the situation *■ though sho was always a pronounced favorite. In reality, she was a bit unluckj that she did not win, for hers was noi an uninterrupted passage. On the other hand, the horse which beat her by a neck, was extremelj fortunate m finding an opening to gel out of trouble on the fence, before being forced back further. Kemp's mare made a sound final dafc after the horse headed her, and if sh( does not work herself out of the had' class before the end of January wll be afforded another opportunity tc grab a similar class of event — th< Wynyard Plate.
