McDonell's Rest
WHEN Sergeant A. McDonell takes off his sergeant's tunic at the end of December, he will do so for the last time. For the worthy sergeant, after 32 years' service is retiring. One is apt to resent the passing of years, especially when it removes such a big-minded gentleman as McDonell from office. Blit good wbrk deserves a good rest . . . and the sergeant has ! worked hard enough for his leisure. ' I Think of it, 32 years of seeing all the frailf les of humanity exposed. It's enough to make anyone cynical and bitter. Not so the good sergeant. It is his creed that there is a little good m everyone, although it's often well below the surface. Well, Sergeant McDonell, here's to a happy retirement.
