HAVE you ever sipped a cup oC tea or cut the end off a pigar m the sanctum sanctorum of Robert S. Latta, District Government Life Insurance manager at Auckland? No? Well, its rather a pleasant interlude vo a stuffy business clay. It's an undeniable fact that not a few folk fight shy of insurance canvassers. Latta, however, is not a canvasser m a strict sense, yet lie 1 can propound the weighty .problem of insurance m. such a pleasant commonsense way that you are sort of glad you called. ■ Like most civil servants he knows what it means to hike it along the long, long trail towards advancement. He "wrote" proposals at Greymouth, Wellington and Hamilton before taking over the Auckland territory and being a genuine all-wool man's man he converted many a business client into a personal friend. This, be it said, is an art m itself. R.S.L. was something of an athlete m his hey-day and has the sporting instinct well ingrained. After banging the office door behind him o' nights he lias been known to put up very fair performances with cue and ball.
