Otago Cricketers After Shield (From "N.Z. Truth's" Dunedin Rep.) In the list of Otago cricketers who commenced representative practice last Thursday are half a dozen colts who will make a bold bid for their rep. colors this season. ALL the same, they will find it hard rt to supplant any of the old school, Galland, Knight, MoMullan.. Blunt, Douglas, Torrance, Cavanagh, Duncan, Shepherd and , the two Alloos. Matheson, the erstwhile Auckland rep., is also at the nets, but he returns to Auckland somewhere about the middle of nekt month. Proctor (Carisbrook) is one of the chosen few who shows nice promise as a bowler. Giles (Old Boys), a stylish righthand striker, of whom Eastman spoke very favorably last season, should have no trouble m securing a share m the Plunket Shield matches. Dickinson,, the f ast. trundler, doesn't seem to have assembled all his pace yet, but bad weather- retarded the opening game two Saturdays, and the season is yet young. . • Elmes is also with the possibles. He travelled with the Otago team last year, so looks like a probable. It was generally thought that White (Dunedin Club) would 'go m as second wicket-keeper to relieve all-rounder Galland, but his name is absent from the list. ' '
