Countryman Salutes The Judge
(By "The Toff.")
Moody Countryman went one of his few genuine races when he arrived at the judge a length m front, of Author Jinks m the St. Albans Handicap. - FROM 2.12 he dashed off the first half--1 mile m- 1.5 and, maintaining his clip, he came home m 2.10 2/5. Author Jinks went a wonderful race, registering 2.8 3/5 for second money.' This is believed to be a record for a mile saddle event. Aniarls and Darknite took the field to the first half-mile m 1.4 3/5 and, under the circumstances, Amaris did well to fill third place. Rebel left the mark, but broke when he had covered some fifty yards. Shine Soon and Genera,! Bingen both went a decent race, but nothing had any chance with Countryman and Author Jinks. Amaris may win a race before the meeting is concluded.
