NOT HOPEFUL
Hynanna's Caulfield Cup Chance (By Cable.— From "N.Z. Truth's" Melbourne Rep.) Since he came to Australia, Hynanna has not been doing well, and unless he improves a lot m a very short space of time he is not likely to win a race at the spring meeting. THE trouble appears to be that he is *■ not acclimatized yet, but he ran his best race to date m the October Stakes at Flemington on Saturday. He was m the rear, with the Queenslander, Canning Queen, for just on five furlongs. Then he finished fast m the straight and was fourth at the judge's box.. > This suggests that it is possible that he may do better over a slightly longer event. i The October Stakes is a weight-for-age race, and run over a mfle — a distance which is rather too short for the New Zealander. . A. J. Shearsby, who came over from the. Dominion, a few weeks ago, has been granted a general permit to train at the V.R.C. last committee meeting. He has already got Amoonah and Bright Flare m work at Caulfleld.
