Splendid Record
TO "N.Z. Truth" one of the greatest joys on earth is to chronicle on this page the records of splendid, unselfish women whose best years have been spent m the service of humanity. To-day we do honor to Miss A. Taylor, lady superintendent of the Auckland Public Hospital, who, at the end of 1928, retires after thirty years of . service to suffering humanity. During this time she has served m Christchurch, Waihi, Auckland and • the Great War. There's many a digger whose brightest recollections- of the Awful Years include the kindness of an unassuming, yet insistent, % lady m nurse's uniform. ,',., There is something big and splendid about a lifertime given over to nursing. It is not a profession for those who have not patience, skill, courage and resource. Yet it does not offer big rewards — just a feeling of satisfaction. It is of course, only natural that the Hospital Board received her resignation with .the greatest regret. Its members expressed the that Miss Tayloi 1 ■vyould be hard to r replace. They were, right. , ; ,
