CRACKAJACK

Native Prince Steps Very Fast (From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) One of the finest free-legged exhibitions of pacing was provided by Native Prince on a fast track at Alexandra Park last week. HE was accompanied by Western King and Jewel Pointer m a bout over twelve furlongs, and the Prince kept the strapped-up brigade busy when the pace was cracked on. They were not bustled over the first mile and the clock said 2.30, but they were hard at it at the finish when they recorded better than 1.4 for the last half-mile. .Native Prince is on his way to be classed as one of our best, and it will be indeed surprising if he fails to go better than 2.45 4/5 and 4.52, his previous best times for a mile and aquarter and two miles.
