Genial Jack

IN the young set of solicitors practising m Christchurch there is.no more popular figure than Jack K. Moloney, lawyer . and , sport. Nature was generous to Jack, and a delightful blending of Caledonian and Hibernian instincts provides, him with a powerful weapon to play on the natures of his fellows. ! ' Jack gives the Christchurch West District High School the credit of starting him off m life, and a period at Canterbury 'College, together with the experience he gained as one of Liverpool's^ "Dinks," broadened his vision sufficiently to allow him to think for himself. Jack was secretary for the Canterbury Amateur Athletic Association, but his greatest service to sport has been m the world of Rugby.- Victoria and Canterbury Colleges were both glad to have his assistance on the field, while the New College Cadets, one of the bestof the service teams playing m England m 1916, had his services as standoff half. Through with the game m an active sense, Jack turned his attention to the administrative side and for five years has sat on the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union. He was also chairman of the New Zealand University Football Council . which brought the first Sydney team to New Zealand after the war.
