HYNANNA RUNS
Need To Improve Good Deal (By Cable.— From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Melbourne Rep.) Unless Hynanna improves quits a lot, his showing at Moonee Valley on Saturday says he will pot have any chanoe m the Caulfield Cup. QP course,. too much notice should not be taken of his failure, as it was his first run m public since he came to Melbourne and he was running m a race that- was too short for him, and on a course that was small and tricky. Still, even so, he should have done better. He jumped away well, but could not ■go the pace m the early stages, and gradually' dropped further and further back until he was last after going two furlongs. . < From then on he made up little ground, but once he turned for home he stopped badly and. only beat three horses to the finishing post. The former New -Zealander, George Delariey,. looks like playing an important part m this year's Caulfleld Clip. ■ He. has < Sun Morn engaged, and, Judging by the \ way that little black Btalllbh finished In third place. in the ■Budgeree Handicap at Moonee Valley — after meeting with interference on two separate occasions during the race — It jseems that he is going to be a bit of a : nuisance In any middle-distance .event he starts m from now on. 1 . He was ridden by the former Dominion horseman, Alf. Drisooll.
