DERBY HOPE
Prince Humphrey Is Now Liked (By Cable. — From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Sydney Rep.) Not Only does Limerick look like winning every race he starts m this spring, but Prince Humphrey possesses an excellent chance m the A.J.C. Derby. pSINCB HUMPHREY was only second to Limerick on Saturday, but he shaped like a stayer. Mollison won the Rosehill Guineas like a champion, but the "Prinoe" was responsible for a good performance. He stuck on gamely, after giving Limerick what looked an impossible start. Owner Charlie Maolndoe 1b sanguine of beating the mighty Mollison m the blue riband. Roscrea's third In the Guineas left much to be desired, He was slow to begin and made little impression on Mollison and Ramulus m the dash home. Happy Warrior also ran m the Guineas, but was outolassed. In the Shade was installed a pronounced favorite for the Rosehill Cup, but Toohey made too much use of the gelding, being m front five furlongs from home. He finished a olose fourth and does not look a Metropolitan hope. Oratrlx made her debut m the Cup and indulged m the pace-making 1 for a few furlongs. She should pick up a minor middle-distanoe handicap before returning. Satrap and Raasay failed dismally m th 6 Hill Stakes, and Raasay's former owner struck a good bargain In disposing of the colt for 8000 guineas. Concentrate effected a surprise win m the Hlghwelght, beating a mediocre field. He went out unbaoked and looked as if he did not have his mind thoroughly on the Job. He was ridden 'by Ashley Reed.
